changing Belfast.
A city in Northern Ireland, Belfast, has some of the most widespread graffiti depicting lifestyles and tales of a country torn in two through wars over time. I particularly like the piece along Bank Street, painted on the walls of Manny's fish and chips shop. With the building boom and the change of time, most brick buildings have been demolished and replaced by high-rises. This picture shows the old bank street in 1915 on the left and in 1924 on the right. Clearly, the community's culture has changed over the years. The modern-day city hall can be seen in the back along with the H&W cranes as well as the Titanic center. In addition to showing the cars, it also covers the murals and statues dotted around the city. Using captivating colors and a wall, the artist was able to display and preserve some local history and culture. Today, all those who view this work can gain a small glimpse of the Northern Irish economy and lifestyle in a changing world.

There are also drab walls and old buildings in the immediate vicinity that were painted to make the area more attractive. The famous Michael Anglo painting from the nineteenth-century hands reaches out to the world in one of these works, which portrays the earth with Ireland at its center. There is a painting on the wall that represents the glass found in churches nearby and illustrates the stages of the church and how Christ manifests in each fragment. This painting functions as an illustration of Irish belief in both God and the church from the time the artist painted it until now.

The final piece comes from Montreuil (eastern suburbs of Paris, France), a place filled with urban art scenes. You can see beautiful artwork along the walls of bars and studio buildings far away from the Louvre Museum. Artof Popof and Retro Graffitism are French street artists who settled in Montreuil and use the art to showcase their skill while bringing life to the outer community of Paris. Local artists display work that everyone in the community can appreciate, as the surrounding area is culturally diverse. A wall was used as a canvas in the artist's installation at 52 Rue du Sergent Bobillot, 93100 Montreuil, France, where you can see the painting completed with paintbrushes and spray paint. The mural is painted on the perimeter walls of studio albatross, a nightclub/art studio that hosts a variety of shows. It features contemporary art and music thyme and functions as decoration and advertising of the business.
Graffiti is being turned into a positive force throughout many cities around the world. The artwork above was seen during my 2016-2019 tour in Europe, I saw a lot of graffiti (street art, Murals). Whether it is to display their individual talents, tell the story of a changing era, remember specific people who have brought communities or the world together, or even express their political opinions. These artists communicate without words but bring forth their culture and beauty to the environment.
