Watertown, NY Graffiti

Graffiti in Watertown, NY found around the downtown area. Images taken 26 Jan 2022.
The images depict different styles of graffiti. The first few images depict several different pieces of graffiti art all within a single parking garage. The first image is of a heart with a father holding a kid holding his legs up in a cradle position. This seems to be depicting the love between a father and his kid. The next few images are of messages trying to get druggies to stop doing drugs as well as asking them to pick up their needles. This is to hopefully clean up the city as well as a way to show that the artist seems to care about the people that are doing drugs and about their city. These pieces of art were all created using spray paint on cement.

Not all graffiti is markings on wall that have been "tagged". Some can be signage for a company like the last few images. The first signage image is of Massey's Furniture Barn painted sign on the side of a downtown store that isn't Massey's Furniture Barn. This was placed to be advertisement for the store that is just down the road a mile. Morrison's Furniture is a furniture store in the heart of downtown Watertown, NY that painted their name on both sides of the building to let drivers and pedestrians from afar know where they are and to get customers attention. On their building there was old signage fading away from the years. This old signage was for a Chevrolet dealership and a Paige Motor Cars dealership. These signage graffiti were used on bricks and wood using outdoor paint.
