British Amphibious Vehicle

 

    This is a photo of a British Amphibious vehicle that was used during World War 1 (WW1). This vehicle saw use during the time of the war from 1914-1918. In this the photo you can see the camouflage patterns that is used to hide the vehicle in woodland areas, ribbed tracks that are used to crawl in mud , and a rear wheel used to stabilize the tank

    The reason in choosing this photo is to highlight the stepping stone of the armored vehicle used in today's warfare, seeing that this was the very first armored vehicle ever developed. At the time of its inception, it had a lot of issues: It being a very heavy vehicle and poor traction control, the tank struggled to go over a lot of terrain, it was difficult to maneuver, and due to its slow speed was an easy target. Although this vehicle had its flaws, it became the bedrock of the tanks used in modern warfare. 

    Personally, I have always found battles of the past intriguing. Conventional warfare of the past is day and night compared to that of the present, and seeing how technology has advanced to change how we fight is the highlight of why I find this photo interesting, because in the development of new tech, we always look towards the past to see what worked best, and make is better.
