The Bill of Rights
“A photocopy of the original Bill of Rights which was done
between 1920-1930. This truly captures the beauty of this document, which was
proposed on March 4th ,1789”
I’ve chosen this document since it depicts the beauty of a
form of writing that is slowly being phased out. Not only is such penmanship
being phased out due to the excessive use of technology, but the ideas proposed
in this sacred text are also being degraded by modern day tech. Also, the
quality makes it hard to decipher and the same technology that will phase out
these ideas will be required in the future to digitally remaster and
re-establish the foundations that were erected by this document.
This document is found in the Prints and Photographs
Division of the Library of Congress. A keyword search for “Bill of Rights” via “Photos,
Prints, Drawings” will also locate this artifact.
I would like to know the photographic print method that was
used to capture the artifact with minimum damage. Also, the penmanship is
captivating and how many times the document was written and if any errors occurred
during the first drafts.
