Catalogue of illuminated manuscripts 

The archive I am going to write about is the Catalogue of illuminated manuscripts. 

This collections purpose is to curate and show off illuminated manuscripts from British history.

I would say this archives narrative is that artifacts and writings with bright colors and artwork in them are more interesting to look through than plain manuscripts with no color or flair. It also wants to tell the story of Britain’s history and artifacts. In the about section it talks about how hard it was to make the parchment used in these writings and how much time, money, and effort went into making a book back then. 

Where did the artifacts in this collection come from? These artifacts come from Britain.

How are the artifacts related to each other? The two main things that connect all the artifacts in this collection is they are all illuminated, and they are all artifacts from Britain. 

How were the artifacts sorted or curated? The artifacts in this archive are sorted by date ranges starting in the 800s and going all the way to the 1600s.

How are they arranged in the exhibit or collection (chronologically, thematically, etc.)? They are arranged in order of when they were created, from the 800s to the 1600s.

How is each artifact described? They have a very detailed descriptions under each artifact that tells what it is, why it was created, where it is from, and who it was created by.
