Medieval manuscripts

Most of the artifacts in the Medieval manuscripts collection come from European countries during the 10th century to mid 19th century. artifacts are sorted by title, country and century created. The collection is arranged thematically and chronological, by two different collections. Descriptions state the size and thickness of the artifact as well as what they are made from. Most of them made out of vellum. Some descriptions are just the language they are written in, depending on which part of the collection.

Part of the collection is religious. The other part is financial or legislative. One paints the picture of how religion played a big rule in medieval writing, the other shows how it was used by the common people. Both show the history of writing and its purpose.
